On the evening of May 17, 2025, HCMUE hosted the Closing and Awards Ceremony for its 2025 Student Drama Festival at Hall B, concluding a vibrant, emotionally impactful day of theatrical celebration honoring creativity and human values.
Comrade Nguyen Vu Hoai An, Deputy Head of the Office of Political Education and Student Affairs and Secretary of the HCMUE Youth Union, together with Comrade Tran Dinh Phong, Standing Committee Member and President of the Vietnam Union of Students at the university, presented letters of appreciation and flowers to the judging panel
This year’s festival brought together 20 teams representing various departments, branch campuses, and the Experimental High School, featuring over 500 students on stage from across the university. Their works covered a diverse range of themes such as revolutionary ideals, friendship, teacher–student and family bonds, youthful aspirations, environmental protection, school culture, and contemporary social issues — offering insights that deeply resonate with today’s youth.
Dramatic performances at the event
All the featured productions not only showcased a rich variety of genres but also conveyed profound messages and demonstrated strong artistic value. Spanning heroic historical stories, heartfelt tributes to earlier generations, and aspirations for a better future, each piece was meticulously crafted and showed great care in scriptwriting, directing, acting, and stage aesthetics. Many of these pieces left a lasting impression on both the audience and the judging panel, thanks to their creativity, inspiring messages, and the emotional expressiveness of the student performers.
The judging panel, composed of seasoned professionals in the field of theatre, worked with seriousness and integrity to select the most outstanding performances, recognizing the talent and dedication of each participating team.
Beyond showcasing talent, the 2025 Drama Festival served as a wholesome artistic platform where students could connect, learn, and cultivate essential soft skills, while fostering a love for the performing arts within the university community. Its success inspires the university to persist in advancing cultural and creative programs with even greater dedication.
